Our Story

Bombo Chiya is more than just a name, it's a symbol of everlasting love, unforgettable memories, and a constant reminder of our continuous celebration of life!!

This name was born out of the spirit my Mother, Maria Christina, a strong spirited and high energy Cuban woman we affectionately called, “Bela” who loved to party and make everyone feel welcomed. Her contagious energy and enthusiasm was felt by everyone around her, and she left an indelible mark on their lives. Although she is no longer with us, her legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew her and in the name Bombo Chiya.

To our Bombo Chiya Chicas and Chicos, the name represents a community of like minded people and a culture that includes everyone.

It's a reminder of the love that was shared and the good times that were had.

To those who are new to the Bombo Chiya community, we welcome you with open arms. We hope that our name becomes a source of empowerment for you, a community that you can count on, and a business that promises to bring you joy, deals, and an awesome shopping experience.

In honor of the incredible woman who inspired our name, we will continue to celebrate life and spread love through everything we and through everyone we service.

Hola Chica!

With a deep-rooted cultural heritage from her family's migration from Cuba and Mexico, Lorett Cuadra proudly identifies as a first-generation Latino Americana.

Due to her roots, Lorett comprehends the significance of diligence and persistence in pursuing the quintessential American dream. Hailing from Chicago and growing up in Houston, her passion for fashion and business blossomed early on.

Drawing from her father's entrepreneurial acumen and her mother's emphasis on compassion, Lorett crafted a boutique environment unparalleled in its uniqueness.

Lorett, alongside her husband, Kenneth and their team, aspire to establish an inclusive culture where every individual feels valued and deserving of any item within their inventory.

Reflecting on her past experiences of shopping at thrift stores as a young adult, Lorett recalls feelings of lack of confidence and at times a bit of embarrassment. She made a personal commitment that, if given the chance to open a boutique that would offer preloved and second hand items, she would strive to ensure that every customer feels esteemed and is spared from the emotions she once endured.

Fast forward a few decades and her vision and mission was accomplished! Whether you visit their downtown boutique or engage with her during live shows, every individual experiences a sense of care and acknowledgement.

Lorett aspires for all her customers to recognize their inherent beauty, irrespective of their choice of attire.

Remember, God Loves YOU!
